Sheffield born and educated Ernest Leslie Morgan Millar chaired a working party for the Ministry of Health and Scottish Home and Health Department and was responsible for the creation of the first common standards for ambulance service training across the UK. Millar began the conversations that mattered-that ambulance crew should be properly, thoroughly trained and certified in order to deliver their crucial work. He also acknowledged the fundamentally important role of ambulance crew.
